Summary:
The Patient Access Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for managing the team of Quality Assurance Representatives. The team is responsible for researching and resolving registration related errors for all MaineHealth entities live on Epic. This team is also responsible for identifying system issues that create registration related errors for encounters that occur at all MaineHealth entities live on Epic. Management and oversight requires extensive knowledge of standard MaineHealth Patient Access policies and procedures in addition to entity specific policies and procedures for all MaineHealth entities live on Epic. The Quality Assurance Manager also interfaces with leaders across MaineHealth system and will also provide feedback, areas of opportunity and participation in process improvement events and initiatives. The manager will also facilitate the planning, implementation and post implementation phases of various projects for the department, Maine Medical Center, MaineHealth and/or other MH entities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent leadership experience in Revenue Cycle will be considered
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a related Healthcare Field and (3-5) years leadership experience preferred; this includes having an understanding of Patient Access as it relates to registration, insurance verification, authorization, collection functions, financial assistance, and third party payer procedures
  4. Has the experience and analytical skills necessary to identify innovative opportunities for improvement including process redesign principles, organizing and overseeing the work of others to ensure that objectives are performed in alignment with department standards.
  5. A high level of self-activation and initiative to keep abreast of dynamic changes in the regulatory arena; ability to work in a high volume, fast paced work environment requiring prioritization of multiple tasks simultaneously.
  6. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to present and explain information to customers and stakeholders. Communication skills include experience working with Microsoft Office products.
  7. Must be able to handle sensitive, stressful and confidential situations and account information
