Who we are looking for:

Atkore, a recipient of a Great Place to Work certification and a Top Workplaces USA award, is searching for a Chemical Technician to be based out of our Phoenix, AZ facility. Reporting to the shift supervisor, this person will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining all chemical application coating equipment for our production operation. This person will need to work with the production team to communicate issues and ensure quality production.

What you'll do:



  • Monitor use and storage of all chemicals used in the manufacturing process.
  • Inspect and maintain all coating applications to ensure equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Inspect and monitor product after coating
  • Monitor and audit tube manufacturing process.
  • Transports and maintains inventories of hazardous chemicals
  • Initiates and/or performs equipment repair, preventive maintenance, or modifications
  • Interacts with paint and mill manufacturing groups


What you'll bring:



  • Minimum of 1-2 years of related job experience or equivalent education and field experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of tools and mechanical systems.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Knowledge of basic chemistry and/or chemical handling preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and/or with little supervision in a team environment.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures set forth by Atkore's Safety and Quality guidelines.


Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Complete initial training.
  • Be able to troubleshoot production issues.
  • Assist production team with changeovers, set-ups, and quality control inspections.
