About The Position The Market Intelligence Manager plays an integral role in leading risk assessment and assisting with the management of the costs of equipment and services procured by Ameren. The position is responsible for the development of negotiation strategies and contract development using data analysis, such as price analysis, should cost modeling, market research or other strategic analysis. This position is also responsible for communicating analysis results effectively and clearly to all levels of co-workers from peer to executive leadership for major capital equipment and services utilized by all Ameren companies. In addition, the position is responsible for creating impact analysis to support Supply Chain strategies and advise stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:
Takes a strategic approach to risk, modeling, and managing cost structures at the category, equipment, or service level. Utilize expertise in clean sheet cost modeling and data analysis to develop cost models for projects/procurement. Calculate, analyze and adjust cost models as required. Develops cost modeling/analysis and provides subject matter expertise for category strategies by understanding upcoming sourcing events and areas of most opportunity and risk Identify factors affecting costs, such as production time, materials and labor. Facilitates meetings with Sourcing and Legal to create contract language that defines price adjustments based on identified cost elements Build cost models for major spend categories (i.e. large construction projects, major capital equipment, high spend commodities and services) Facilitates meetings to communicate cost models to key stakeholders and senior leaders for budgeting/capital project costing Recommend ways to reduce costs (recommend cost reduction strategies or opportunities based on completed models) or remove risk to Ameren's supply chain. Implement "should-cost" model methodology into category strategies as Ameren organizes sourcing into a Category Management model. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and business partners in Ameren Missouri, Ameren Illinois, Transmission, and B&CS functions Establish a strong network and foster collaboration with vendors and key stakeholders across Ameren Develops, monitors and maintains a book of rates, indexes, material costs, labor mark-ups and other important factors in costs including statistical analysis Predict the expense of future projects or equipment by analyzing monetary costs and other factors Aid management in bidding on or determining price of product or service Calculate standard labor hours necessary to produce equipment or to complete projects Developing and reviewing other team members key responsibilities and application of analyses.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required, preferably in an analytical discipline (e.g., , Economics, , Business, Engineering, Construction Management, etc.). MBA, other related graduate degree, or Doctorate preferred. Seven or more years of professional experience in cost estimating, strategic sourcing, purchasing, consulting, cost accounting, or finance required. Candidates with an advanced degree or Doctorate will be considered with five or more years of experience. Quantitative finance, statistical analysis or analytic modeling experience strongly preferred.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills; Must be detailed oriented. Must possess excellent math skills and time management skills. Thorough understanding of Ameren's systems applications (i.e. Oracle) preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required, must be advanced in excel. Experience with commodity price benchmarks and public indices. Strong experience with cost modeling. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates. Compensation Range: $108,400.00 - $168,000.00
At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
