Job Title:Engineering Lab Technician, Triage

Location: Southfield, MI

Work Arrangement: ON-SITE

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Request input samples & manage sample inventory throughout data collection process
  • Process input samples through necessary dimensional and functional data collection from internal and external labs,
  • Generate 2D/3D CAD to help support with data collection process and generate quote prints
  • Manage data collection requests for priority and due dates with ensuring records are updated with completed results.
  • Back-up for ordering (OE, competitor and Tenneco products) and shipping (to other Tenneco locations or suppliers).


Minimum Requirements:

Education:



  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate degree in discipline relevant to position or equivalent work experience; PREFERRED


Experience:



  • 2+ years' experience in Engineering or Auto Industry


Skills:



  • Familiarity using 2D CAD drafting or 3D CAD modeling program (AutoCAD, NX, CATIA)
  • Ability to interpret drawings and have basic understanding of measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office 365 (specifically Microsoft Excel).
  • Attention to detail to make sure accuracy of input data.
  • Ability and drive to complete projects with a deadline.
  • Ability to lift items that are 40 lbs.
  • Self-motivated with desire and ability to learn new systems specific to Tenneco.
  • Preferred - Proficiency using 2D CAD drafting or 3D CAD modeling program (AutoCAD, NX, CATIA)
  • Preferred - Basic understanding of steering and suspension systems.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work and communicate with engineers and management.
  • Capacity to manage diverse workloads from multiple sources
