The Welding Foreman - Workforce Outreach Specialist plays a unique role that blends hands-on welding expertise with talent development. In this position, you'll use your industry experience to evaluate welding candidates, support the hiring process, and serve as a technical resource to ensure new hires meet quality expectations. You'll also take the lead in building connections with trade schools, attending career fairs, and helping guide aspiring welders toward successful careers.

Position Summary
Support the hiring and evaluation process for welder candidates at our high-volume manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for someone with a hands-on welding background who has transitioned into a leadership, training, or assessment role. The subject matter expert (SME) will partner closely with the recruiting team by evaluating qualified candidates, conducting interviews, and determining hiring readiness based on technical and cultural fit.
Role will serve as a key liaison with trade schools, attending career fairs and representing the company at outreach events to help promote our welding opportunities.
Role Responsibilities
Candidate Assessment & Hiring
  • Serve as the technical authority during the interview process for welding candidates identified by the recruiting team.
  • Conduct behavioral and technical interviews to assess qualifications, safety awareness, and fit for the welding roles.
  • Evaluate weld test results and provide final hiring recommendations to operations leadership.
School & Trade Outreach
  • Represent the company at welding trade schools and career fairs as a technical ambassador.
  • Build relationships with instructors and training programs to stay informed on graduate readiness and curriculum alignment.
  • Participate in classroom presentations, welding demos, and on-site events as needed.
  • Collaboration with Recruiting Team
  • Partner closely with recruiters to ensure clear alignment on hiring standards, must-haves, and interview criteria.
  • Provide feedback on submitted candidates and help calibrate recruiting efforts by sharing insights on current hiring needs and skill gaps.
Travel & Representation
  • Travel occasionally for out-of-state hiring events, weld test observations, and school visits.
  • Promote the company and its welding opportunities with professionalism, authenticity, and enthusiasm
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of welding experience in a field or manufacturing setting, with additional experience in leadership, training, or hiring.
  • Strong technical understanding of welding processes (GMAW, FCAW, TIG, Metal Core, etc.) and ability to assess skill level and safety practices.
  • Experience conducting interviews or evaluating hands-on trade performance.
  • Confident communicator with an approachable, outgoing personality.
  • Ability to travel as needed (25%).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of autonomy
Minimum Physical Requirements and Accountability
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Prompt, punctual, and regular attendance during core business hours, in an office environment (not a telecommuting position), currently located in the Henderson area, including a reliable means of transport to and from work. Ability to travel between corporate offices and jobsites and/or schools.
  • All employees are accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present. Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the hazard may be corrected
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and a variety of office equipment.
  • Occasionally may need to reach, stoop, or kneel.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.

Hourly Wage: $38-$42
