The position offers full-time employment as an exempt, at-will State of Colorado Employee with an anticipated duration through June 2028, based on funding. Colorado is a resource rich state and its most vital resource is its people. To be competitive in the global marketplace, Colorado businesses and industries require innovation to support quality, quantity and capacity associated with talent innovation. The Talent Innovation Operations Coordinator supports the daily planning and operations for the Talent Innovation division. Supporting the team and its programs, including the Opportunity Now suite of programs at the Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), and other state and federally funded programs. The ideal candidate should be detail oriented and have the ability to work collaboratively across our OEDIT divisions. The ideal candidate would excel at detail management, exemplary organizational skills and supporting operational capacity. The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:
Administrative Support Operational Processes Time management and calendars Event planning Experience with tools such as the google suite, Salesforce or other similar tools Demonstrate a willingness to self-initiate and learn government processes, such as budgets, procurement, digital tools, invoicing, travel, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Coordinator is responsible for:
Managing schedules, coordinating meetings,including preparing agendas and minutes), handling correspondence, maintaining filing systems (both physical and digital). Frequently assisting with ongoing projects and initiatives, such as tracking progress, monitoring deadlines, maintaining project documentation, and communicating updates to team members and stakeholders in collaboration with the division director and team. Helping ensure projects stay on schedule and within scope. Assisting with budget-related tasks, such as tracking expenditures, processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports. Helping ensure our team has the necessary tools to implement projects and execute on program priorities. Supporting the director in ensuring that all operations comply with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and office policies. Playing a role in monitoring this compliance and maintaining necessary documentation. Facilitating communication between different departments, external agencies, vendors, and the public. Assisting with administrative tasks, such as onboarding new employees, maintaining personnel records, and helping with scheduling and timekeeping. Observing existing processes, identifying potential areas for improvement and working with the team to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.

Minimum Qualifications At minimum of 2-5 years of professional experience working with administrative and operational tasks. OR At a minimum, this position requires an associate's degree from an accredited college or university in bookkeeping, business management, communications, public administration, liberal arts, or a closely related field. Please Note: related occupational experience will substitute for degrees on a year-for-year basis. Required Competencies Ability to:
Prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines Manage schedules and multiple priorities effectively Prepare meeting correspondence, including agendas and minutes Organize and manage records in alignment with state and federal requirements Clear and concise written communication Demonstrated willingness to self-initiate and learn complex government processes (e.g., procurement, budgeting, invoicing, travel) Observe existing processes critically and identify areas for efficiency and improvement Approach our shared work with a helpful, supportive, and curious mindset to assist team members and the director with various administrative and operational tasks Support the team in having the necessary tools and resources to execute priorities.

Salary Range: $62,000 - $67,000 Annually This position is considered non-classified, which means the position is not part of the Colorado State Personnel System. Therefore, the individual appointed to this position is considered at-will, and is not covered by the State Personnel Rules or the State Classification System. However, this position does come with the same benefits (retirement, insurance, etc.) as every other State employee, and with the same opportunities, pride and passion that comes with working for the great State of Colorado. Even though employment is at-will, non-classified positions have protections against discrimination and retaliation in state and federal employment laws. "At-will" employment means that either the employee or the State may terminate the employment relationship at any time for any reason or no reason, with or without notice or cause, as long as no federal or state law is violated. A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and state seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. While all offers are compliant with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, there is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
