Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist Worcester, MA The UMass Memorial Children's Medical Center has an opening for a board-certified or board-eligible pediatric hematologist-oncologist at the assistant or associate professor level. We seek an individual with a strong commitment to providing quality clinical care for children and adolescents with a wide variety of hematologic and oncologic disorders. This position will include teaching responsibilities for medical students and residents, as well as the potential for clinical or translational research activities. The recruit will join a growing number of UMass pediatric faculty engaged in basic, clinical, translational, and population research. Internationally renowned investigators in the Department of RNA Therapeutics, Gene Therapy Center, and Department of Molecular, Cell, and Cancer Biology provide a stimulating, highly collaborative research environment. The candidate will also join a vibrant and mission-driven faculty that provides outstanding medical education and quality improvement to provide exceptional clinical care to the families of Central Massachusetts. The collaborative environment at UMass Medical School is ideal for multidisciplinary and translational studies. The faculty, students and staff pride themselves on their collegial spirit and willingness to share reagents, equipment and advice. Multiple Institutes and Centers bring together researchers with common interests for informal discussion and formal seminar series, including programs in Cell Dynamics, Bioinformatics & Integrative Biology, Systems Biology, RNA Therapeutics About our Division: The UMass Memorial Children's Medical Center is the only tertiary care hospital for children in central Massachusetts and offers comprehensive pediatric services, including the full range of pediatric subspecialties, a pediatric intensive care unit, a level 3 NICU, and dedicated pediatric emergency and trauma services. When hiring is complete, the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology will be fully staffed with four physicians and two nurse practitioners. We have membership in the Children's Oncology Group, with 20-25 new cancer diagnoses per year. Our division also cares for a large and growing number of patients with sickle cell disease (approximately 200) and is active in the New England Sickle Cell Consortium. The UMass Department of Pediatrics offers a collaborative environment with opportunities for professional development and partnership with other pediatric specialists and community pediatricians.
