Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineer to join our team. This individual will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our Personalization IT environment, ensuring optimal performance, stability, and security. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment and has a passion for technology. This position offers the opportunity to expand their skills and grow into a DevOps Engineer role.

This role requires the candidate to be based in the Nashville area. We are specifically seeking individuals who are within a commutable distance to Nashville, TN.



Responsibilities

    Manage and maintain our Department's infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
  • Install, configure, and update software and hardware components as needed.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and performance.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Work towards infrastructure as code (IaC) principles, using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Octopus & Puppet.
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure the environment is in an acceptable state.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and future reference.
  • Implement security policies and access controls to ensure compliance with organizational requirements.
  • Develop and implement patch management strategies to keep Windows servers up-to-date with the latest security patches and updates.
  • Deploy and manage software applications on Windows servers using tools such as Ivanti or Group Policy.
  • Coordinate with application owners and stakeholders to schedule maintenance windows and software deployments.
  • Implement security best practices for Windows servers, including patch management, antivirus, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Conduct periodic security assessments and audits to identify and remediate potential vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., PCI Card, HIPAA) related to infrastructure.
  • Remediate active vulnerabilities as dictated by Security
  • Manage VM lifecycle activities such as cloning, snapshots, and resource allocation adjustments.
  • Troubleshoot VM-related issues and performance bottlenecks to ensure smooth operation.
  • Implement and maintain backup solutions for virtualized infrastructure, ensuring data integrity and recoverability.
  • Perform regular backups, data replication, and failover/failback exercises to validate DR readiness.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems, including Windows Server 2016 through 2025.
  • Install and update server roles and features, such as Active Directory Domain Services(AD DS), DNS, DHCP, and file services.
  • Manage and maintain Active Directory infrastructure, including domain controllers, group policies, and user accounts.
  • Create and provision virtual machines according to business requirements, including operating system installation and configuration.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in Windows server administration in enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency in VMware vSphere, including ESXi & vCenter Server.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong understanding of virtualization concepts, storage technologies, and networking fundamentals.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and task automation.
  • Proficiency in Windows Server operating systems (2016/2019/2022) and related technologies (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions for virtualized environments (e.g., Veeam, VMware Site Recovery Manager).

Preferred skills:

  • Linux/Unix Administration.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and services (AWS & Azure).
  • Experience in Jira/Confluence
  • HSM & PGP/RSA Key Management

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) a majority of the time.
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access cabinets and office machines.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers on project requirements, must be able to exchange accurate written or verbal communications.
  • Must be able to assess information from computers.
  • Works in indoor office conditions.
