Job Description

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Sr. SW Engineer (multiple openings) in Austin, TX to

  • Conduct business and technical analysis, code reviews, and unit testing.
  • Implement and produce technical documentation of solutions for new development, system enhancements, and production support.
  • Design, develop, and implement modifications and corrections to existing software, including the development of debugging routines.
  • Regularly check into continuous integration of systems and/or software applications.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams, working with architects, systems analysts, project managers, QA and other developers to implement business requirements while applying the latest available tools and technology.
  • Work under direct supervision to ensure on-time delivery of projects, production support plans, and knowledge transfer for long-term supportability of upgrades, enhancements, and deployments.
  • Utilize Public cloud infrastructure, load balancers, log monitoring, and S3 buckets.
  • Apply security fixes and carry out vulnerability remediation.
  • Actively collaborate with project teams and contribute innovative ideas from Hackathons.
  • Position reports to the Austin, Texas office and may allow for partial telecommuting.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or related field, and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineer related occupation.
  • Position requires experience in the following skills:
  • Designing and implementing High Availability applications with Disaster Recovery capabilities, involving tasks such as hardware provisioning, network configuration with load balancers and CDN;
  • Establishing CI/CD Pipelines utilizing tools like Jenkins, Chef, and Ansible;
  • Developing automation solutions for DevOps tasks through coding and scripting, employing languages such as Groovy, Python, Shell Scripting, and YAML;
  • Setting up testing environments for automated testing of applications;
  • Implementing application monitoring tools, including detecting failures through Error Log monitoring, and monitoring website availability using tools such as Splunk, Catchpoint, and Dynatrace;
  • Administrating applications hosted on the Java-based Content Management System, Adobe Experience Manager;
  • Setting up instances, Load balancers, Log monitoring, and managing public cloud environment, S3 buckets;
  • Modernizing applications through containerization using Kubernetes and Docker;
  • Analyzing application performance using tools like JMeter and providing performance improvement solutions;
  • Applying security fixes, vulnerability remediation, and patching of application platform systems;
  • Engaging with various project teams to successfully execute deliverables; and
  • Participating in Hackathons.
Additional Information

Worksite: Austin, TX

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $108,826.00 USD to $164,100.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for an annual bonus and equity.
