The Director of Digital Security will play a mission-critical role in leading a dedicated engineering function focused on securing FOX's suite of direct-to-consumer digital products, including high-scale platforms such as Tubi, FOX ONE, and other consumer-facing brand applications. This role is part of a newly created team of cybersecurity leaders and engineers tasked with advancing cloud security across the enterprise. You will partner directly with senior leaders in product, infrastructure, engineering, and data science to define and execute a comprehensive cloud security strategy that protects FOX's digital services at scale. This is a hybrid leadership role that combines deep hands-on technical expertise with strategic managerial acumen. You will be expected to roll up your sleeves to solve complex problems, mentor and guide engineering teams, and set the long-term vision for secure cloud infrastructure.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership & Technical Oversight

  • Define and own FOX's digital security vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business objectives and the broader enterprise security posture.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders on cloud security risks, architecture decisions, and secure digital transformation.

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of cloud security engineers, while maintaining hands-on involvement in critical design and implementation work.

  • Influence engineering and DevOps roadmaps to embed security-by-design and scalable guardrails across CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure.

Architecture & Engineering

  • Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of secure, scalable cloud infrastructure in AWS and hybrid environments.

  • Establish secure patterns for multi-tenant application development, identity and access management (IAM), network segmentation, and data protection.

  • Direct the implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) security practices, secure secrets management, and container security controls (e.g., Kubernetes).

  • Maintain technical ownership of security tooling and automation pipelines to detect, respond to, and remediate threats in real-time.

Security Operations & Incident Response

  • Provide executive guidance and coordination during cloud-related incidents and vulnerability response efforts.

  • Drive continuous improvement in detection engineering, monitoring, and forensic readiness using SIEM, WAF, DDoS, and custom tooling.

  • Lead and liaise threat modeling, penetration testing, and policy enforcement across multiple cloud environments and workloads.

Governance, Risk, and Compliance

  • Define secure cloud operating models aligned to frameworks such as NIST CSF, OWASP, SLSA, and Zero Trust.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and industry standards (e.g., SOX, GDPR, CCPA) through secure infrastructure design and operational rigor.

  • Serve as the technical liaison for internal and external audits related to cloud security posture.

Collaboration and Enablement

  • Embed with application, data, and infrastructure teams to ensure security is integrated into the entire software development lifecycle.

  • Evangelize cloud security best practices across FOX through education, documentation, and tooling.

  • Champion efforts to reduce overly broad permissions while preserving engineering velocity and system resilience.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 12+ years of experience in cybersecurity with 3+ years in cloud security engineering leadership roles.

  • Demonstrated experience leading security functions for direct-to-consumer digital platforms or streaming services.

  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing security engineering teams in large-scale cloud-native environments.

  • Expert-level knowledge of AWS cloud security architecture and services, with strong experience in identity, network, and application security.

  • Hands-on proficiency in building secure automation and tooling using Python, Golang, or equivalent.

  • Deep experience with cloud-native detection and response tools, SIEM platforms, and cloud infrastructure observability.

  • Mastery of Linux system administration, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps pipelines.

  • Thorough understanding of DNS, CDN, and application-layer defenses for modern web platforms.

  • Strong working knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, OWASP, SLSA, Zero Trust) and regulatory controls (SOX, GDPR, PCI).

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and executive reporting skills.

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Prior experience leading or scaling security functions within a media, entertainment, or OTT environment.

  • Security certifications in cloud (e.g., AWS Certified Security Specialty).

  • Experience managing multi-region cloud infrastructure at scale.

  • Familiarity with modern risk quantification methods and GRC platforms.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $247,000.00-345,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
