About the role:

As the Director, Dukovany 5&6 NSSS Delivery you will oversee the successful completion of the NSSS scope for the Dukovany 5&6 project. You will manage the NSSS scope, including engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and commissioning support of the KHNP APR1000 nuclear power plant units. The NSSS Director will ensure that the scope is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality. The NSSS Director will also be the deputy to the Project Director.

This is a remote US-based role, and reports to the Senior Project Director.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Dukovany 5&6 Project Director with delivery of Westinghouse contract obligations.
  • Be a contract named position "Project Manager".
  • Oversee project invoices, payments, contract changes, and single contact for project correspondence.
  • Responsible for coordination of project reporting (internal monthly project status review materials, monthly customer report, joint status review meeting).
  • Prepare project cost expenditure forecasts and progress evaluations/projections to support project performance and financial reporting requirements, including coordination of top level NSSS & MMIS inputs.
  • Review project expenditures for compliance with project baselines and scope.
  • Manage all aspects of NSSS (non-I&C) project performance - scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and partners through use of delegates / support as applicable.
  • Collaborate with GOS organizations to ensure completion of scope (engineering, procurement, Newington, and Shoreview).
  • Interpret and transmit project and contract requirements to teams, and any subsequent changes following an integrated change management process.
  • Ensure all individuals performing project work are qualified to the appropriate project training requirements.
  • Develop project progress metrics to ensure team, customer, and all partners are kept informed of project status.
  • Develop or oversee project records in systems, standard databases and procedures to ensure efficient handling and transmission of project correspondence and documentation internally and externally.
  • Maintain relationships with customers KHNP, Doosan and KEPCO E&C.
  • Develop people, organization, core processes, and necessary interfaces to accomplish work scope.
  • Apply lessons learned from current and past project activities.
  • Report activities and ongoing progress to the Dukovany Project Director.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree in Business or Engineering helpful
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing large engineering and procurement projects.
  • Experience managing complex projects and project teams from creation to completion.
  • Experience working and leading across matrixed organizations.
  • Above average ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, with customers for whom English is a second language.
  • Knowledge of nuclear power plant design, construction, operations and regulatory requirements is required.
