Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Workforce Development Trainer to lead trainings and professional development of Career Services staff. The Trainer will design and deliver programs aimed at equipping our team with the skills, knowledge, and tools necessary to support job seekers in navigating the workforce. This role focuses on empowering career services professionals to enhance their coaching, job placement, and career guidance capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of workforce development practices, adult education techniques, and the evolving demands of the job market.

The Trainer will work closely with Career Coaches, Business Service Staff, and other team members to ensure they are fully prepared to offer top-tier career services, including resume building, interview preparation, and job search strategies. Additionally, the Trainer will collaborate with external partners and employers to align training content with industry needs, ensuring that our services remain relevant and effective in helping clients achieve their career goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop Training Programs: Create curriculum, training materials, and lesson plans for workforce development programs that meet the needs of individuals seeking employment or career advancement.
  • Deliver Training Sessions: Facilitate engaging and interactive training sessions on various topics, including job readiness, technical skills, soft skills, and industry-specific training as well as overseeing the training and implementation of new and/or updated processes.
  • Assess Learner Progress: Monitor and evaluate the progress of staff through assessments, feedback, and other performance measures.
  • Tailor Learning Strategies: Adjust teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and skill levels, ensuring inclusive and equitable access to education.
  • Collaborate with Industry Experts: Work closely with Leadership to ensure training aligns with staffing needs, labor market and trends.
  • Provide Career Guidance: Offer coaching and support to help staff set career goals, develop professional skills, and prepare for interviews and job placements.
  • Maintain Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of staff training attendance, progress, and outcomes in accordance with program guidelines.
  • Stay Current with Industry Trends: Continuously update training content to reflect policy and procedure updates, best practices, and technological advancements.
  • Report and Analyze Results: Compile and report data on training outcomes, staff performance, and overall program effectiveness to key stakeholders.

Specific Responsibilities:

New Hire Onboarding:

  • Provide introduction to the Career Center and the Talent Delivery Model.
  • Collaborate closely with HR to coordinate the new hire's first-day schedule, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience.

New Hire Navigation and Technical Trainings:

  • Conduct hands-on training for systems such as EmployNV, WORCS, Dropbox and other case management tools.
  • Work with Leadership to develop and enhance training materials and methods.

Continued Education:

  • Collect feedback from Program Leadership, Leads, and QAM to identify training needs and areas for development.
  • Facilitate and host ongoing training initiatives, including but not limited to:
    • Quarterly in-person training sessions.
    • Updates to policies and procedures, independently and/or coordinating with QAM to lead sessions as needed.
  • Collaborate with specialists to coordinate and deliver on-demand training on specific topics.
Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in education, human resources, or a related field preferred OR experience in instructional design and facilitation experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- 2+ years of experience in Title 1 WIOA Services, workforce development, adult education, or a related training role.

- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.

- Ability to manage diverse groups of learners and adapt to various teaching styles.

- Proficiency with virtual learning platforms and training software (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams, Learning Management Systems).

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

- Knowledge of local labor market trends and employer expectations.

- Certifications in specific industry skills or instructional training.

- Bilingual skills (preferred but not required).
