POSITION SUMMARY: Direct maintenance hourly employees oversee subcontractors to meet short and long-range objectives with optimum efficiency. Work with the Plant Manager and regional resources on planning maintenance / capital budgets through the identification of plant opportunities. Ensure project standards and guidelines are applied and adhered to as established. Focus on productivity improvements to attain cost optimization. Ensure regulatory compliance is maintained and documented. Work with the Plant Manager on developing and implementing improved maintenance processes aimed at optimizing the overall productivity of the plant. Enhance or upgrade Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to measure implementation and progress of goals with input from the Plant Manager or Regional leadership. Drive culture of change from reactive to pro-active in the approach to asset management and reliability of equipment throughout the facility. Support Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) initiatives and awareness programs. RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS: Reliability and availability of plant assets and equipment
- Coordinate and prioritizes needed repairs
- Regularly advises production / plant management of needed equipment status and repair
- Leads the identification of and resolve of equipment failures
- Allocates resources appropriately in the face of competing demands
- Effectively manage the selection and utilization of contractors as needed
Champion maintenance department communications
- Communicate effectively with all maintenance hourly employees
- Clearly establish and communicate the vision for the department
- Creates a culture of trust and open communication
Leadership and Development of Maintenance Staff (Electricians and Mechanics)
- Provide structure, direction and feedback to maintenance hourly team
- Readily share information and develop the maintenance team by delegating to their strengths
- Set clear guidelines and expectations for the maintenance hourly team
- Establish and communicate clear roles and job performance expectations
- Be a positive leader that encourages cross-functional communication.
- Track Key Performance indicators to measure progress of goals.
- Provide feedback to direct reports on daily projects.
- Ensure proper motivation of employees through coaching, delegation, and follow up to suggestion and ideas
Environmental, Health and Safety
- Lead by example and demonstrate EH&S leadership
- Ensures compliance of maintenance team with all EH&S standards, programs and requirements
- Monitors work place to ensure a safe and healthy environment

- Good leader or supervisor experience is desired.
- Must be capable of working any shift, on-call, overtime, or seven days a week, rotating shifts, if required.
- Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
- Must be able to improve working conditions (safety, quality, productivity, cost) and increase subordinates' skills and capabilities
- Must be able to assist the plant manager in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedure, safety, quality control, and performance management
- Ability to plan and direct the work of hourly personnel and to train and develop an effective workforce and administrate corrective action is a plus
- Good knowledge of mobile equipment and diesel engine maintenance and repair
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to lead 5-Why activities.
- Good understanding of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
- Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and meeting all required deadlines, with excellent organizational and written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of budget process is strongly preferred.
- Good presentation and public speaking skills.
- Strong sense of urgency in meeting customer needs.
- Good understanding of safety, environmental, and the desire to following all established procedures are required.

- Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint software. Previous SAP knowledge is a plus.
Physical Demands include, but are not limited to:
- Must be physically able to perform work assigned.
- Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations.
- Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.
- Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
- Will be working in an office environment, mining, and mineral processing environment.
- The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Metallic Particles.
- The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical Engineering or related technical field or demonstrated skills and ability and/or equivalent work experience in the field is desired.
PREFFERED EDUCATION:
- BS Degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineer, Business or related field.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- The minimum of 1- 3 years of experience in a maintenance supervisor role in a heavy fast paced manufacturing, construction, and/or mining/mineral processing environment is required
PREFFERED EXPERIENCE:

- Maintenance Planner
- Production Supervisor
- Mine Supervisor
- Previous lean manufacturing experience is preferred.
