Three Rivers Midlands is seeking a dynamic and talented Infection Control Nurse

Three Rivers Midlands is a comprehensive behavioral health facility treating children and adolescents through residential, partial hospitalization and Rehabilitative Behavioral Health Services (RBH). We treat males and females ages 6-21 - for a wide spectrum of psychiatric issues, addictive behaviors, and chemical dependency related illnesses.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To protect patients and employees from communicable diseases; to coordinate the preventive and intervention measures as well as the tracking and reporting system associated with this effort.
  • Prepares, presents, and coordinates clinical and non-clinical trainings to ensure staff competency upon hire and throughout their employment.
  • Collaborates with program and department managers to design facility-wide programs to improve quality of care and employee performance through the development of staff knowledge and skills.
  • Provides floor coverage as needed
  • Assists Director of Nursing with some administrative duties and scheduling

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital or health care environment; one year of experience working under the supervision of an experienced infection control nurse, preferred.

Age-Specific Competencies: Child, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric

Licensure/Certification: Current SC RN license ; BLS certification required; CPI certification required. CIC required within 6 months of hire into this position.

Other:

Skills in evaluation, decision making, prioritizing and time management; basic analytical and mathematical skills to be used in computing statistics for infection control reporting purposes. Knowledgeable in aspects of OSHA's blood borne pathogen standards. Good written and oral communication skills.
