Overview

Presbyterian is seeking a talented Employee Assistance Program Counselor.

The EAP Counselor delivers clinical services, training programs, and program support to eligible clients and participants, both remotely and on-site. As part of the EAP Clinical team, this role provides individual and group support through assessments, brief counseling, coaching, consulting, crisis response, and training. The counselor collaborates with clinical and administrative staff to enhance service delivery, triages client needs, and connects them to appropriate resources or long-term care. Services are provided in person, by phone, or via video.

Ideal Candidate:

A compassionate, adaptable clinician with experience in brief counseling, crisis response, and group facilitation across diverse settings.



Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or Social Work; LMHC or LMSW required, advanced licensure preferred.

  • Clinical training in chemical dependency, mental health, and brief therapy; CEAP certification or interest preferred.

  • Experience in EAP or business consulting, with skills in substance abuse assessment, treatment planning, and case management.

  • Strong communication, mediation, training, and presentation abilities; bilingual Spanish speakers encouraged.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; skilled in interpersonal relations and negotiation.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA, confidentiality laws, and reporting requirements for child and elder abuse.



Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on team projects to improve EAP service delivery to employees, companies, and business partners.
  • Consultation with employees and organizations on a variety of workplace issues.
  • Collaboration with Human Resources and organizational leaders to manage referrals to address employee job performance concerns.
  • Clinical assessment for level of risk, substance abuse and dependency, and appropriate level of care.
  • Facilitation of on-site services for work teams to debrief and provide psychological first aid following a workplace critical incident.
  • Attendance at company health fairs,
  • Presentation of EAP orientations to employees and managers
  • Support and participation with team members to help build a high-performance team.
  • Develop effective working relationships with peers within and across organizational lines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
