Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager-Retail and Catering Services.

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management and execution of all retail services within the North campus of NYU Langone Health and affiliated offsite venues.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to and promotes the mission, vision and values of the Food and Nutrition Services Department and NYU Langone Health.
  • Achieves a world-class level of food and hospitality for our staff, patients, and guests.
  • Ensures an elevated level of employee engagement and satisfaction by facilitating a positive work environment, open lines of communication, and culture of excellence.
  • Oversees and executes all aspects of Retail services for the North Campus consisting presently of Tisch, Kimmel and Science Cafes, Kimmel & Science Coffee Bars, and OCC & ACC coffee bars.
  • Assist with Catering operations as needed.
  • Holds the team accountable to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Coordinates with other departments and leaders within NYU Langone Health to maintain the highest level of hospitality and service excellence.
  • Assists in creation & implementation of standards for retail operations including but not limited to merchandising, customer interactions, operational aspects, product selection and all NYU Langone Service Standards.
  • Maintains the appropriate par levels for food / non-food supplies to ensure operational efficiency and eliminate waste for retail.
  • Merchandises Retail Services effectively and creatively to achieve optimal marketing of facilities / image.
  • Maintains accurate safe/cash handling procedures in all venues.
  • Participates in the review, revision and / or development of Departmental Policies & Procedures.
  • Maintains a sanitary, safe, and efficient operation in accordance with federal, state, and local health regulations and all standards set forth by The Joint Commission
  • Coordinates cost saving plans & revenue generation strategies, to meet financial parameters. Develops, coordinates, and executes menu cycles / promotions/ service enhancements to increase sales, customer counts, and satisfaction. Collaborates with the culinary team on menu development and implementation.
  • Participate in the selection, orientation, training, and performance evaluations of the staff to provide the opportunity for personal / professional development with a customer service focused approach and ensure all staff meet the standards of competency required for satisfactory job performance. Supervises subordinate staff.
  • Provides all facets of customer service excellence and interacts positively and collaboratively with clients, vendors, and other sub-units.
  • Maintains quality food and service at all designated retail venues with a hospitality focus for achieving excellence in customer service. Provides with training on customer service/hospitality, regulatory requirements, departmental policies and operations needs.
  • Adheres to all NYU Langone brand standards and guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in food service management, Hotel / Restaurant Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of management experience in hospitality / food service industry, and Retail Services.
  • Certified in SERV Safe program (within 6 months of hire.)

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $97,589.96 - $160,342.49 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
