Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Student Intern.
In this role, the successful candidate We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Per Diem Student Research Intern. In this role, the Student Research Intern will have an opportunity to develop basic research skills and become an integral part of research projects and grants occurring in the Division of Rheumatology. As a team member with an ongoing research program they will work with the support of an experienced scientific mentor. This will include structured, hands-on training and research under your research mentors direction in his or her lab. The Student Research Mentor will learn about specific components of research, such as basic methodology, laboratory management, experimental design, and human subjects research.

Under direct supervision of the faculty, the Student Research Intern observes all phases of clinical/translational research processes and gains an in-depth knowledge of the field and the rigors of academic medicine.
Job Responsibilities:
This position will participate in a robust clinical research program. The responsibilties may include:
- assisting lab staff with the day to day operation of the laboratory through clerical and inventory management support
- specimen management & processing
- ordering and receipt of inventory
- basic laboratory instrument maintenance
- study recruitment tasks for human subjects research including data collection, entry & management
- chart abstraction, and other translational research tasks
- reviewing scientific literature for papers and grant applications
- participate in laboratory meetings
- communicating with team members.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma required
Must be a full-time student, or if working in the summer months (Mid-May through Mid-Sept), must be planning to return to full-time status in the fall

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $16.50 - $20.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
