Job Description

We are looking for a Manager, North America Events, to support the design and delivery of Visa's client and employee events across the U.S. and Canada. This professional needs to understand strategic business objectives and help translate them into successful event programs. This position reports to the Senior Director, North America Meetings & Events and is based in San Francisco, California. While proximity to Visa's corporate headquarters is preferred, qualified candidates in other markets will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • This role is part of Visa's North America (NA) Operations team, which is responsible for various internal and external meetings and events supporting NA Leadership and the regional sales team for the U.S. and Canada, working closely with team leads to engage sales teams and the wider Visa population on relevant business priorities and key objectives.

  • Support end-to-end event management to include venue scoping, budgeting, development of workback schedules, vendor management and onsite execution, across large-scale client conferences with C-level attendees, user conferences, hospitality events and annual sales meetings.

  • Work cross-functionally to bring together multiple business units on varying priorities, goals and objectives in accordance with a 'One Visa' approach.

  • Manage suppliers and event solution vendors from briefing, planning, execution and reporting.

  • Develop and support production of agendas and content use across multiple internal channels (e.g., events/ speaker support, presentations and videos) partnering with colleagues across the organization, particularly business and regional leads, to ensure message alignment.

  • On-site event execution including registration management, administration of event technology platforms, culinary, product showcase, theme parties, print / signage and all logistics.

  • Employ AI toolsto analyze and optimize attendee engagement, communications, event technology development, and feedback methodologies while driving event enhancements and data-focused decision-making.

  • Administer the NA sponsorship assets program, partnering with Finance Operations on asset tracking, compliance and ticket distribution.

  • Facilitate the team annual operating budget, collaborate with Finance on event budget administration and for monthly and quarterly reconciliation forecasting requirements.

  • Manage payment process across event portfolio including partnering with procurement and finance on SOWs, PO's, virtual card and p-card payments

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

* 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

* 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD

* Bachelor's degree in Event Management, English, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related discipline a plus.

* Experience in payments, fintech, financial services, or another relevant area a plus.

* Proven and expansive experience in event management processes and principles with direct event experience on corporate events of 1000+ attendees and 1M+ budgets, sponsorship programs and internal employee events.

* Ability to manage programs, agendas, and content that communicate, celebrate and expand the Visa mission

* Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.

* A hands-on work ethic with flexible and resourceful mind-set, team player champion.

* Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, pivot quickly, and respond with urgency.

* Sound business judgment and experience connecting the dots among seemingly unrelated topics.

* Positive approach and commitment to collaboration with shared purpose.

* Proficient in MS suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), savvy with technology with a data-focused mindset

* Exceptional eye for event design and delivering with polish, style and impact

* Trustworthy and credible, ability to manage sensitive information

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 99,700 to 180,650 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
