Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
University Development's purpose is to support the mission of the university by raising private resources to enhance financial support for students, faculty, programs, and facilities. University Development provides leadership and centralized services to all development offices throughout the University, serving as a focal point for annual giving, application development and IT support; campaign management; constituent programs; corporate and foundation relations; donor relations; gift planning; gift services; industry relations; marketing/communications; parents giving; principal gifts; prospect management, research and analytics; regional programs; scholarships and student aid; talent management; university events; and volunteer engagement.

Position Summary |
The executive assistant position is a member of the University Development Office (
UDO) Campaigns & Strategy team and reports directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor, Campaigns & Strategy, University Development. This team supports a wide variety of functions and provides services to a very successful and active University wide development operation, which surpassed $600 million per year in fundraising to support students, scholarships, research, academic programs, and other initiatives in the University. This position is responsible for executive support to the
AVC and is also responsible for administration and project management of campaigns and strategy initiatives. This position will independently implement the systems and procedures required to organize all meetings, projects, and activities related to the responsibilities of the
AVC office. This position will ensure the workflow continues according to the office guidelines, independently answering internal and external inquiries using the knowledge and critical thinking necessary to make sound judgments on routine and urgent matters. This position will work closely with the
AVC and staff on the
UDO Campaigns & Strategy team and collaborate with development staff across the University to support campaigns, strategies, prospect development, business intelligence and
CRM management. It is important that this position develop a strong working knowledge of all aspects of University Development. This position will also serve as a backup to support departments within University Development Campaigns & Strategy team as needed. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Associate's degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience ; or Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a diverse environment; understanding and awareness of program services, policies, office protocols, professional practices and applicable laws/regulations; professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality; strong organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize work amidst multiple demands and meet deadlines; flexible, collaborative, yet able to work effectively with a high degree of independence; demonstrated knowledge of such software/programs as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook calendar. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Experience in higher education and administrative environment preferred. Experience using Blackbaud
CRM, especially
DAVIE, and the University's
CRM database highly desired. |
