Location : This role is hybrid - 4 days per week onsite, in Columbus, OH.

A Brief Overview

The Parts Data & Selection Analyst plays a key role in driving continuous improvement in part selection accuracy and maintaining accurate records of part master data. This is achieved through accurately managing part master data, internal part selection rules, and the VIN decoder. Ideal candidates will have experience with automotive parts catalogs and order guides, along with a habit of staying informed through industry medias. An understanding of how vehicle features relate to specific parts is also essential. The Parts Analyst will work both independently and collaboratively to analyze complex datasets, correct errors, and deliver strategic, insight-driven recommendations.

What you will do

  • Data Governance: Ensure accuracy and consistency of part numbers, descriptions, and other attribute classifications in Safelite systems by maintaining and updating item master data records. Complete audits that ensure data integrity against business rules and data standards. Support new model introductions by creating and updating part master data and establishing part selection for accurate vehicle-part matching.

  • Part Selection Process: Leverage Safelite systems to develop and maintain accurate part selection logic through rules for new vehicle models. Refine part selection logic questions through analysis and independent vehicle & part understanding & investigation, enabling and empowering correct part selection and exceptional customer experience. Optimize the VIN decoder to support accurate vehicle identification and part matching.

  • Partnership: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gain insights, resolve issues, audit data, identify discrepancies, and correct errors to support accurate part master data and part selection. Visit dealerships, attend automotive trade shows, and engage with industry media such as MotorTrend, Car and Driver, and MotorWeek to gather insights that enhance existing data and improve part selection accuracy.

  • Data Analysis: Independently analyze and interpret large datasets, translating insights into consumable, actionable narratives and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

What you will need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience Required

  • 4-6 years Automotive industry experience Required

  • NAGS part numbers, descriptions, & glass features Preferred

  • Mechanical aptitude Preferred

  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau Preferred

  • Microsoft Suite (Medium proficiency)

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills (High proficiency)

  • Complex data analysis and visualization (High proficiency)

  • Familiarity with car models, trims, and ability to differentiate between vehicle components (High proficiency)

  • Ability to build and maintain working relationships (High proficiency)

  • Proactive problem-solving ability (Medium proficiency)

  • Adaptability to changing circumstances (Medium proficiency)

  • Ability to use data to identify root causes (Medium proficiency)

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively (Medium proficiency)

  • Ability to travel to off-site location up to 10% of the time
