Main Duties & Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY
Support quality for current and future manufacturing requirements and determine
the most effective methods to improve productivity through the management of
people and technology.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

to perform the essential functions. Quality Engineer I personnel shall be
qualified to perform the following duties with only periodic supervision
oversight or review:

Ensure that all contractual and regulatory quality requirements are defined and
communicated on assigned programs.
Support all departments to ensure control of both in-process quality and final
quality of product.
Provide customer interface on quality issues and problem resolution.
Collaborate with sales, purchasing, production, bidding, and contract
management to establish quality procedures to meet customer requirements.
Interface with vendors to correct problems dealing with purchased materials and
processes.
Provide manufacturing engineering support including root cause analysis,
corrective and preventive actions to resolve problems in product manufacture.
Support the SPC program and perform statistical analysis of the data to ensure
process stability.
Perform other assignments as required.
Equipment/Process Responsibilities: Ensures work area, property, tools, and
measuring instruments used are properly cleaned and maintained daily.
Work with Others: Accurate and thorough communication is mandatory to the
success of Monogram, and Quality Engineering personnel must use good written
and verbal communication to ensure team members, including in other
departments, are notified of any problems or concerns regarding quality of work
received or time flow of work in progress as it affects production schedules.
Works as an active team member by participating in problem solving, team
building and all other team activities to improve the processes, productivity,
quality, etc. of operations in the department. Able to direct and organize work
of other Inspection personnel they are assigned to lead, as well as train other
employees in the inspection methods, operations and procedures they are
qualified to perform, as required.
Safety Responsibilities: Adherence to Company safety rules is required.
Protective equipment and clothing shall be worn as appropriate to the task at
hand and per the dress code policy and safety rules.

Initiative and Ingenuity: Requires initiative in solving problems associated
with the procurement, manufacturing, inspection, and testing of Monogram
products. Makes suggestions for improving the efficiency of workflow
operations. Takes on or reports for additional work as current tasks are
completed. Performs other work-related tasks as deemed necessary by Company
needs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Environmental Surroundings: Work is in a machine shop laboratory environment
where noise, temperature fluctuations, the repetitive nature of the job, etc.
are less desirable than in a typical office environment.
Unavoidable Hazards: Possible hazards related to cuts, bruises, finger and hand
injuries, bums, chemical reactions and muscle strains. Exposure to moving
mechanical parts, metalworking fluids, chemicals, heating elements and airborne
particles. Protective equipment and clothing appropriate to the task at hand is
required.
EFFORT
Physical: Able to lift up to 25 pounds. Required to adjust requisite equipment
to set-up specifications. Hand and finger manipulation in turning
tools/valves/handles or operating knobs/cranks/buttons etc. as well as using
precision measuring instruments. Able to reach, bend and stretch. Most job
assignments require continuous standing and/or sitting for periods exceeding 15
minutes at a time.
Mental: Work at times is highly repetitive and monotonous. However, set-ups may
require basic knowledge of machine shop theory and familiarity with laboratory
test procedures. Set-ups or test parameters may require some improvisation and
ingenuity. Reasoning ability required to interpret blueprints and documentation
of a technical nature. Must be able to draw valid conclusions from a variety of
abstract and concrete variables. Required to organize workflow to best
efficiency under periodic supervision or review.
Visual: Close attention to detail with moderate eye concentration for extended
periods of time. Able to read precision instruments and gauges. Requires close
and distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, focus adjustment and
depth perception.

This role is required to be on-site 5 days at the
Commerce, CA location.


Qualifications

EDUCATION/TRAINING
Bachelor's degree (BSME, BSIE, BSQA) from an accredited school
ASQ CQE is preferred
Proficient in technical writing, good documentation skills; attention to detail
is critical
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings required
Demonstrated analytical ability including planning, resolving problems
effectively, and establishing priorities.
Ability to perform Statistical Analysis.
Understanding of DOE, 6-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing desired.
Intermediate level of computer skill in email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Microsoft Project, and MRP/ERP.
Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers and project company image to
attract business.

EXPERIENCE
1-2 years' experience as a Quality Engineer
5+ years' experience in Aerospace Inspection and/or Quality Administration
functions preferred.
Prior experience with ISO and AS environments.

Compensation
In compliance with all states and cities requiring
transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $80,000 -
$95,000.
Compensation can vary depending on several factors,
including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and
geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like
equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
