Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation products, is searching for a Credit Specialist I for our Columbus, OH location.

Responsibilities
- Partners with the sales force on granting credit approval for customers.
- Resolves orders placed on a credit hold by working with Collections and Sales Representatives when necessary
- Performs credit reference research to establish credit limits through Duns & Bradstreet & Experian Credit reporting agencies, online search sites, and calling references listed on the credit application - Evaluate the credit worthiness of our customers to determine credit limits using High Radius, Dun & Bradstreet, Experian, online tools and credit references.
- Resolves escalated issues related to credit approvals in a timely and professional manner
- Reviews credit exception reports and notifies sales representatives of orders being held via telephone, to decide on whether a release is appropriate based on terms of sales, history of relationship with the customer, recent high credit limit, payment habits, and any history of NSF checks or serious delinquency
- Re-establishes appropriate credit limits to authorize higher credit limit amounts for accounts with increased credit needs
- Prepares and submits credit refund requests to the Credit Manager for refunds for approval for payment
- Processes and provides accounts receivable statements upon requests by customer
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Previous credit specialist or similar experience preferred
- Previous MRO experience preferred
- Previous B2B credit experience is preferred
- Previous experience with Experian or similar is preferred
- The ability to perform extensive work over the phone
- Intermediate computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications
- The ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information
- The ability to read and write small letters and numbers; the ability to make arithmetic calculations; and the ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
- The successful completion of a ninety (90) day orientation period
Additional Information
This is a Monday- Friday role. The shifts are 8 hours with a rotating schedule between the hours of 8:00am-6:00pm.
