Salary range:
Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation includes AAMC salary benchmarks for Neurology ranging from $220,000.00 - $289,940.00. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. See the Professorial Series (Adjunct, Clinical X, HS Clinical, In Residence, Ladder Rank) and Professor of Teaching Series - Health Sciences Compensation Plan. This position includes membership in the health science compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Position description
Neurohospitalist

The Department of Neurology at the University of California, Irvine is seeking two board-certified or board-eligible faculty members to join the development of a dedicated Neurohospitalist Program at UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, California. The ideal candidates will have exceptional training in the inpatient management of complex neurological disorders. Fellowship training in Neurohospitalist medicine, Vascular Neurology (Stroke), or Neurocritical Care is preferred.

Successful candidates will work closely with our Comprehensive Stroke and Cerebrovascular Center, and a multidisciplinary team of subspecialists including neurologists, neuro-intensivists, neuro-interventionalists, cerebrovascular surgeons, and neuro-radiologists. The successful applicant must qualify for an academic appointment in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the Assistant, Associate, or Full professor rank.

Preference is given to candidates who have experience working within collaborative, multidisciplinary neuroscience centers. We highly value individuals who have been actively involved with international, national, or regional professional societies. Additionally, candidates with a background in teaching, clinical research, or participation in clinical trials are strongly encouraged to apply.

Candidates must hold an M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. from an accredited institution with appropriate training and experience, postgraduate clinical training, and eligibility for one of the medical specialty boards.

Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series:The incumbent will be expected to teach fellows, residents, and medical students; provide patient care; contribute to scholarly activities; and provide public and University service.
