Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Accounting Specialist (Grants) for the Wireless Information Network Laboratory within the School of Engineering.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Provides pre and post award support to center- affiliated researchers.
- Collaborates with university accounting, OFR, ORSP and other central offices as required for the effective management and reporting of research projects in the areas of budget, purchasing, accounting, and personnel.
- Advises principal investigators on policies and guidelines for spending on federal funding and university IRB approvals for Human Studies.
- Compiles proposal budgets consistent with sponsor and university guidelines.
- Provides information for proposal submissions.
- Approves budgets and account set-up for new awards.
- Manages revenues and expenditures on grant projects.
- Tracks related sub-contract and cost sharing agreements including modifications with OTC and the funding agencies.
- Prepares analyses and projections of WINLAB's commitments/expenditures.
- Manages unrestricted and gift projects including faculty summer salaries, start-up funds.
- Oversees related operations costs as requested.
- Performs special projects for management as assigned such as the center's summer program.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
- Two years of relevant professional experience in a financial/accounting function or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principals and practices (GAAP).
