What you'll be doing...

The Content Specialist is tasked with managing the Verizon Connect blog and supporting content development. Taking strategic direction from the Content Strategist and SEO team, the Content Specialist will develop and maintain editorial and content calendars, partner with internal and external agencies to build and curate content in diverse formats including: GIFs, videos, blogs, eBooks, infographics, etc. - to be distributed across various channels, and communicate content plans cross-functionally.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing a solid understanding of product portfolio, target audience, buyer's journey, key pain points and sales process
  • Leading the content creation process by developing creative briefs, partnering with project management team and agencies throughout the creative process

  • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide direction and feedback, review content for accuracy and alignment to creative brief

  • Building and managing content calendar to align with SEO, content and campaign strategy

  • Analyzing performance data looking for trends and anomalies, highlighting opportunities to improve, and acting on them

  • Managing technical aspects of the blog including posting and retiring content, testing CTAs, optimizing for SEO

What we're looking for...

This role requires an individual with strong communication and organizational skills paired with project management experience. The Content Specialist will also need to leverage data insights to help understand what content works best for audiences and channels at each stage of the buying process, and will utilize that information to help build future plans. Being data driven is a must.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree and 7 or more years relevant work experience

  • Content development experience

  • Experience in a B2B marketing role

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Experience analyzing reports to formulate recommendations and next steps

  • Experience with Google Analytics or similar tools

  • Sound knowledge of content management systems, search engine optimization (SEO) and keyword research tools

  • Copywriting experience

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Experience with design software like Adobe Creative Cloud

  • Managed complex projects with multiple stakeholders.

  • Built and maintained brand editorial calendars.

  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills

  • Strong communication skills

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $91,500.00 - $159,000.00. The annual salary range for the Illinois location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $91,500.00 - $159,000.00. The annual salary range for the New York location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $91,500.00 - $159,000.00.
