Timmons Group is looking for a talentedCivil Designer or Senior Civil Designerto join our dynamic Land Development Group in Charleston, SC. The qualified individual will perform civil site design tasks for a variety of land development projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities includebut are not limited to the following:

  • As an individual contributor, uses professional judgment to direct and independently complete assigned engineering designs.
  • Lead and execute civil site design tasks across diverse land development projects.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers and mentor junior engineers.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews and ensure technical accuracy.
  • Make impactful design decisions that align with client goals and project timelines.
  • Identify and resolve technical, scheduling, or financial challenges.
  • Support construction oversight and respond to contractor inquiries.
  • Contribute to proposals, cost estimates, and client communications.
  • Acts as technical expert on assigned projects when operating as an individual contributor and acts as Project Manager on smaller scope or specialty projects as assigned.

Skills/Requirementsof a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • An ideal candidate will have at least five years of civil design experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced AutoCAD Civil 3Drequired.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop financial project management skills through assigned project work and assigned project management assignments.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive, professional mindset with a focus on client success.
