Job Summary

We are seeking a full-time Maintenance Supervisor III to join our team in Parsons, KS.



This role provides leadership and supervision to a diverse team-including supervisory, skilled, and unskilled personnelengaged in the fabrication, installation, maintenance, and optimization of Plant facilities. Responsibilities encompass oversight of buildings, grounds, roads, railroads, utilities, and equipment.



The Maintenance Supervisor III defines staffing needs, assigns daily tasks, and manages shift schedules to meet operational goals. The role includes conducting performance evaluations, identifying growth potential, and making recommendations on hiring, promotion, discipline, and termination.



This position plays an active role in labor relations, including participation in grievance and arbitration hearings. It ensures the safe and efficient setup and operation of tools and equipment, and leverages experience and sound judgment to guide departmental planning and support complex maintenance projects. The supervisor also reviews contractor work for compliance, inspects completed tasks, and drives continuous improvement in equipment performance and operating procedures. A high level of discretion and independent judgment is required in all aspects of this role.

As the Maintenance Supervisor III, here is the work you'll do:


  • Reviews work objectives and estimates man-hour and skill requirements to accomplish objectives, while preparing and/or assisting other departments in Scopes of Work. Establishes staffing requirements and maintains manpower forecasts for all aspects of maintenance and operations in all areas of the plant



  • Coordinates projects with other departments and organizational units, including contractors. Arranges for and coordinates the acquisition of equipment, materials, supplies, tools, etc., to maintain a sufficient supply of each for special and/or emergency conditions



  • Orients new employees relative to Company policy, rules, regulations, and procedures. Makes job assignments and instructs employees with respect to proper job performance. Evaluates employee performance and potential for job growth, and investigates grievances and incidents; prepares written reports of findings



  • Inspects work in progress, resolves technical problems encountered, and recommends changes in personnel, equipment, or conditions (when considered appropriate) for more efficient performance. Responsible for coordinating the loading and transportation of equipment and components to designated areas using approved material handling methods and in compliance with environmental regulations



  • Prepares cost estimates and evaluates the capabilities of in-house versus outside contractors, and presents status reports on special projects and general maintenance activities



  • Interprets work orders, specifications, and blueprints for employees. Creates/formulates as-built and pre-fabrication sketches for secondary equipment or utility installation or relocation



  • Prepares and maintains records and reports of employee time, equipment performance, and status of work in progress



This role is for you if you have these skills:


  • Extensive knowledge of, and the ability to perform, maintenance craft-related skills (including lifting devices)



  • Knowledge of cost estimating and work order control



  • Computer skills (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite)



  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics



  • Ability to operate, maintain, construct, and make repairs to facilities, utilities, machinery, and equipment



And if you have these qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required with Maintenance apprenticeship or technical school certification preferred
  • 7 years supervisory experience in Maintenance related activities
  • High-Pressure Welding and Machining Operations certifications; Lead Abatement certification; Asbestos Abatement Supervisory certification



In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $76,640 - $114,960. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
