Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Air Traffic Control (ATC) Specialist. The ATC Specialist provides critical operational support to various Air Traffic Control Centers, Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) Towers, and Air Traffic Services (ATS) Headquarters and Regional offices. This role plays a key part in planning and executing the site implementation and transition efforts for National, Regional, Facilities and Equipment, and Capital Investment Plan projects. The specialist assists in identifying, analyzing, coordinating, and resolving implementation issues while ensuring timely and accurate reporting of progress and resolutions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Active, full performance level (FPL) Air Traffic Control experience in one or more of the following:

    • Terminal

    • Enroute

    • Oceanic

    • Traffic Flow Management

    • Flight Service Station

  • Equivalent ATC experience in the U.S. Military or an international control environment is acceptable

  • 1-20 years of relevant ATC experience

  • No college degree required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Experience with FAA or other national air navigation service provider projects

  • Familiarity with Facilities and Equipment or Capital Investment Plan processes

  • Prior involvement in transitioning air traffic systems or facilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide operational support to Air Traffic Control Centers, TRACON Towers, and ATS Headquarters/Regional offices

  • Assist in the development of site implementation and transition plans for Facilities and Equipment and Capital Investment Plan projects

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, analyze, and coordinate resolution of project implementation issues

  • Support transition planning for national and regional air traffic initiatives

  • Track and report on the status and resolution of implementation challenges

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure smooth operational integration of new systems and processes
