Job Overview

This position is responsible for full performance complex work creating and delivering training and development programs related to technology and computer applications for all levels of end-users. Duties include developing content, conducting and facilitating training, creating, editing and maintaining technical and training materials. This position may perform lead work over lower level staff.

Support Areas: EpicCare Inpatient RN and Clinical Staff, and Stork

Additional Information
Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm. Work hours may vary depending on the need of the department. This position does require some nights and weekends for go-live support and implementation.

*This role is considered hybrid but does have some onsite expectations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conducts and facilitates on-site and in-house training on the use of computers and associated software programs, features and operations. Delivers training to a variety of audiences utilizing and applying adult learning principles. Conducts train-the-trainer sessions for new courses. Explains complex product information to non-technical audiences.
  • Designs and creates training programs, training courses workshops, multimedia courses, and on-line help for all levels of end-users and IT professionals. Develops course schedules and writes and adapts training materials.
  • Designs and creates (or assists with) computer based training (CBT), web based training programs, online learning modules, and on-line help for all levels of end-users and IT professionals.
  • Collaborates with management, IT and end users to conduct needs assessment and identify training needs for applications and packages supported. Collaborates with trainers and instructional designers to translate needs into curriculum design. Identifies training modality, timing, materials and environment needs. Participates in vendor selection.
  • Determines skill levels necessary for employees and develops course objectives. May identify training requirements for individual or specific roles.
  • Designs, develops, writes, edits and implements customized technical documents including user manuals, online help, training manuals, installation manuals, help documents, and tutorials for information technology equipment or software applications for end users. Gathers information about needs, objectives, functions, features, and requirements.
  • Translates technical terminology into audience appropriate language. Reviews, proofreads and edits complex or technical writing of others. Develops documentation for custom applications and packaged applications utilizing a variety of mediums.
  • Writes, designs, and edits training content and implements training materials using various multi-media channels including digital and paper-based. Maintains documentation and training materials. Manages version control of all print materials produced by the training department.
  • Acts as team lead or project manager for training and development projects. Establishes project schedules, coordinates resources and monitors and reports project progress and status.
  • Delivers quality learning experience for students by preparing and reviewing materials and equipment prior to class. Starts training class on time. Maintains a comfortable learning environment that promotes learning.
  • Develops assessments to measure training effectiveness and Identify areas for improvement. Encourages students to complete post course evaluations.
  • Researches training methodologies, learning tools and best practices to maximize training and development effectiveness. Identifies and incorporates new learning technologies, strategies and techniques into current courses, content, materials and versioning.
  • Supports end-users and provides tier 2 support for supported systems as required.
  • Establishes ongoing relationships with assigned user groups.
  • Assumes on-call responsibilities as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree is required.
  • EXPERIENCE - Minimum of five (5) years of related experience is required.
  • EQUIVALENCY - Combination of post-high school education, job related certification, and/or related experience equivalent to nine (9) years may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
  • Epic training certification preferred but not required.

Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $76,368.20 to $114,552.29
