The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for directing duties of all warehouse personnel that fill orders, ship and receive products into inventory. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for supervising warehouse systems, training, safety, and compliance programs to ensure high quality performance of employees and accurate inventory to make low cost, prompt, timely and accurate deliveries to customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Utilize systems to maintain accurate inventory
  • Maintain inbound and outbound paperwork, perform audits to ensure accuracy and determine training gaps
  • Schedule and direct duties of warehouse employees to achieve a high output low cost warehouse operation
  • Utilize system and metrics in regards of product volumes to organize storage locations to ensure efficient product flow for both inbound and outbound materials
  • Develop and oversee performance metrics and goals for warehouse employees
  • Performance Management of direct reports - including coaching and progressive discipline as necessary and drafting and conducting formal performance reviews
  • Interview, select and onboard new hires for success - including coordinating training schedules and reviewing progress to achieving such training metrics
  • HAZMAT compliance - Labeling, packing slips, etc.
  • Acquire all required licenses, permits, etc. in required time frames
  • Participate in local Safety Committee and ensure proper safety measures and guidelines are adhered to within the shipping department.
  • Communicate warehouse/facilities need for repairs & maintenance
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture
  • Manage overtime of warehouse staff through evaluation of staffing needs through performance measurements and metrics
  • Conduct warehouse and shipping yard inspections to ensure proper housekeeping and removal of hazards
  • Conduct departmental meetings for communications, training, development, and motivation of employees
  • Update and maintain warehouse work instructions
  • Participate in operational meetings as required
  • Fill in for Warehouse Manager as needed
  • Perform other duties as required



Education: High school diploma or GED

Experience and/or Training:



  • 5 years of warehouse or shipping/receiving experience
  • 4 years of warehouse management experience
  • Knowledge of quality, 5-S, six sigma, and/or lean systems
  • Transportation coordination and use of customer routing portals
  • Strong communication & Organizational skills
  • Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)


Licenses/Certificates:



  • Hazmat shipping certification preferred
  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified


Technology/Equipment:



  • Basic Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Inventory Management System (JDE)
  • Understand laptops and projectors for training purpose



PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently asked to speak, hear, stand, sit, and/or use both hands to handle, or touch objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to walk, bend, distinguish colors or use repetitive movement for certain tasks. The employee must be able to lift and carry 25 to 60 lbs. occasionally and lift more than 60lbs. intermittently. PPE will be used intermittently while working with certain hazardous materials. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a warehouse setting. Noise level is moderate to loud. Although the warehouse is climate controlled, the employee will need to be able to adapt to different climate changes. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.

The anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $80,000 and $90,000 annually. This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on the below:



  1. Experience and qualifications: The depth of relevant experience and specific skills you bring to the position.
  2. Education and certifications: Any additional qualifications that enhance your ability to succeed in the role.
