This role will assist in the design, construction, and maintenance of AES Clean Energy's technology systems, including Energy Management, SCADA, Telecommunications, and various other systems critical for monitoring and controlling power generation operations.These managed assets are critical for electrical grid operations. These duties require a wide variety of knowledge in hardware, software, generation operations, networking systems, firewalls, security, power system modelling, remote field devices, and other technology involving new and existing legacy systems, along with supporting the AES Digital Strategy. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop additional skills in a range of technologies and gain hands-on experience with both new and legacy systems.

Key Responsibilities:

System Configuration and Maintenance: Assist in configuring, installing, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining servers, storage arrays, network devices, and software to ensure the reliable operation of the power grid.

On-Call Support: Participate in on-call rotation to provide support for resetting remote services, user passwords, troubleshooting ISP outages, and other system-related issues. Ensure prompt response, adherence to established procedures, and thorough documentation.

Technology Integration: Collaborate with various internal teams to apply technology solutions that enhance business practices, protect assets, and improve customer service.

Cross-Functional Interaction: Engage with co-workers, vendors, and representatives from other organizations to gather and disseminate information, resolve conflicts, set priorities, and complete projects within time and budget constraints.

Documentation and Evaluation: Create diagrams and documentation for IT configurations, evaluate new products and services from vendors, and ensure alignment with regulatory and cybersecurity requirements.

Compliance: Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations to ensure compliance. Actively support AES Cybersecurity and NERC CIP compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Technical Skills: Experience with virtual environments, network fundamentals, hardware, and software. Understanding of VMWare, Hyper-V, Windows Server, and networking design including VLANs and subnetting is desirable.

Critical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently troubleshoot and address issues based on prior experience.

Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% as required.

On-Call Commitment: Availability to participate in on-call support one week per month for 24/7 operations.

Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in operational technology.

Certification: Ability to qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).

Safety: Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including steel-toe boots, hard hats, and other required safety gear.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $81.000 and $96.900/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
