Job Summary

Responsible for performing water quality analysis and related duties to ensure water quality meets regulatory standards and customer expectations.

This position is part-time, temporary and does not include benefits or paid leave, including Holidays. The position is a limited-term assignment and expected to last approximately 12 months only.

Essential Job Functions

Perform chemical and/or microbiological analyses for samples collected from raw, plant processes, and distribution sites, including customer complaint samples and construction related samples.

Follow and meet all laboratory quality control and quality assurance requirements.

Maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, as assigned.

Maintain all necessary analytical results, QA/QC data and laboratory hygiene records as required by Louisville Water Company and regulatory guidelines.

Assist in responding to customer and management inquiries concerning water quality.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

None

Working Conditions

Works in both laboratory and field settings. Chemical and bacteriological laboratories may contain hazardous materials and equipment. Field activities may include sampling of the river, treatment processes and distribution systems; travels between various company locations and work sites.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED equivalent; and

Must be a current college student pursuing a degree in one (1) of the following fields: Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or related science field.
