Argo Group International Holdings, Inc., a Property & Casualty insurer and a subsidiary of Brookfield Wealth Solutions Ltd, is currently seeking a Financial Reporting Senior Accountant for its financial reporting group.

This position will be located on-site in our New York office.

The successful candidate will leverage their accounting expertise within a collaborative team environment to generate high-quality financial statements and provide insightful analyses for effective internal and external reporting. The team holds a prominent position within the company and actively engages in finance projects and initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in the preparation of our group consolidated financial statements, including footnotes to the financial statements and other disclosures
  • Participate in the preparation and review of financial reports and filings with the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) and other regulatory bodies
  • Assist in the preparation of US STAT audited financial statements
  • Manage relationships between corporate finance management and various international and domestic affiliate finance units
  • Lead, or participate as a member of, cross-functional teams for various corporate-level projects, including financial systems implementations, process improvement initiatives, and merger & acquisition finance integration and reporting
  • Participate in research and application of US GAAP and SEC regulatory requirements
  • Prepare or review annual subsidiary-level financial statements and related audit support
  • Assist with the preparation and review of internal and external audit requests
  • Other reporting or relationship management responsibilitiesandprojects, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of2years ofexperience in Audit or Advisory with a public accounting firm, or 3-5 years of experiencein the reporting unit of a publicly traded company
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or financefrom an accredited four-year college or university(MBA or businessmaster's degree a plus)
  • CPAorexam-eligibleand actively pursuing CPA license
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC rules and regulations, and internal controls
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, including compiling, analyzing andvalidating large, disparate data files and reports in Excel
  • Humble, team-first oriented contributor
  • Resilientin the face of adversity, self-motivated,and comfortable working under the pressure oftight deadlineswhile managing competing priorities
  • Comfortable functioning in a group with high corporate visibility
  • Willingness to remain flexible and adapt to changes in a fast-paced,challenging, entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting
  • Possesses process improvement mindset
  • Insurance industry experience (preferred)
  • Experience with Workiva WDesk
  • Experience with general ledger/consolidations software such as Oracle, FCCS, etc.(preferred)

New York pay range: $116,200 - $138,300
