Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

We're seeking a Data Quality & Information Operations Specialist to lead the intake, validation, and reconciliation of policy coverage data for our insurance operations. This role ensures the accuracy of data and the effective delivery of shared services to support underwriting, claims administration, and financial operations, including reporting and analytical functions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the end-to-end intake process for policy data across multiple lines of business.
  • Ensure accurate application of cash and timely reconciliation of premium/claims discrepancies.
  • Serve as a liaison between underwriting, accounting, business servicing teams to troubleshoot data mismatches and resolve coverage queries.
  • Maintain and enhance Access databases and Excel-driven workflows used in intake, reporting, and QA tracking.
  • Partner with operations and functional leaders to formalize process documentation and propose enhancements to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to align data with accounting software outputs and ensure compliance with financial controls.
  • Lead QA efforts to ensure all policy data meets internal accuracy and completeness standards before ingestion.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to facilitate smooth data flow and timely resolution of issues.
  • Identify and implement improvements to intake processes, tools, and documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-6+ years of experience in insurance operations, data intake, or financial reconciliation.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, conditional logic) and experience with Microsoft Access or similar database tools.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with SQL and Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with insurance premium structures and coverage types preferred
  • Experience working with finance/accounting software and understanding of general ledger impact.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills-must be comfortable interfacing with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.

Chicago pay range: $88,500 - $119,500
