Scope of Position The Center for Community Outreach and Engagementat the OSUCCC James is dedicated to increasing cancer awareness in the community with an emphasis on increasing participation in cancer clinical trials. Position Summary The Community Outreach Senior Representative will help deliver existing community outreach efforts and other initiatives in Ohio populations. Community outreach, cancer prevention and screening education; evidence-based intervention program support and facilitation will be provided statewide. This position will require traveling throughout Ohio and flexibility to work evenings and weekends. This position will develop survey tools for all CCOE programs and collect and track all survey related data. This position includes special projects to include food pantry initiative, cancer health action teams, and other projects as assigned by the manager. The analyst will act as CCOE representative on public health committees. Connecting CCOE to partners and implementing Evidence Based Cancer Screening and Prevention programs throughout the State. Function: Business Planning and Operations Sub Function: Community Outreach Career Band: Individual Contributor - Specialized Career Level: S3 Minimum Qualifications For Hire: A bachelors degree in public health, education, or related field with emphasis in Community Health or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 4 years of relevant experience required. Qualified applicants will have demonstrated participation in community leadership roles, experience in program evaluation, and considerable experience in Community Outreach and/or Community Health Worker Certification. Experience in program implementation is desirable. Ongoing: Ability to initiate and maintain positive working relationships with CCOE staff and other organizations and serve the catchment area as a team. Develop understanding of communities served and community connectedness. Effective communication skills, such as listening well, and using language appropriately. |
