Position Summary:

The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for leading and managing the company's accounts payable function to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant processing of vendor payments. This role oversees invoice processing, payment disbursements, vendor relations, and internal controls related to disbursements. The position plays a critical role in month-end close, audit preparation, and driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments.
  • Manage and maintain the AP workflow system, ensuring invoices are properly coded, approved, and documented in compliance with internal policies.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies related to disbursements and vendor onboarding.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor AP staff, including assigning duties, monitoring performance, and supporting professional development.
  • Manage vendor relationships, resolve discrepancies, and respond to payment inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Review and reconcile AP aging reports; monitor outstanding payables and coordinate payment runs.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Treasury, and other departments to ensure efficient payables and cash management processes.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
  • Lead efforts to improve processes, including automation and system enhancements to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Oversee compliance with tax reporting requirements such as 1099s and assist with external and internal audits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive AP experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and AP best practices.
  • Experience with ERP systems and invoice workflow tools; proficiency in Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced environment.
