Position Summary: Reports to the System Director, HIM, provides leadership to HIM team members within the Endeavor Health System HIM Department. This leader is responsible for Supervising HIM functions and workflows. Identifies risks and trends. Resolves issues within scope of supervisory duties. Utilizes team building concepts to facilitate communication and that supports the corporation's mission, vision, and values. What you will do:
- Establishes and maintains process design and workflow for efficiency when needed.
- Utilizes team concepts to obtain staff input and feedback on proposed workflows.
- Where appropriate, suggest changes to procedures. Gathers and monitors statistical data to track performance.
- Coordinates workflows and process improvement within the HIM system department.
- Works with interdisciplinary departments including, but not limited to, Endeavor Medical Group Managers, Patient Accounts, Coding, Finance, Data integrity, Case/Care management, Quality, Legal, Compliance, Utilization Management, and Information Systems.
- Tracks, trends, and monitors data for compliance. Identifies trends and reports to those to the appropriate teams or HIM leadership. Ensures adherence to professional standards, quality standards, licensure, and federal laws. Complies with all JCAHO or HFAP requirements.
- Interviews, hires, and evaluates the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines and discharges subordinate personnel. Provides guidance to subordinate management personnel in resolving difficult employee relations issues.
- Attends Internal and External education programs/conventions in order to support continuous improvement, career growth and development. Encourages professional membership in the American Health Information Management (AHIMA) and Illinois Health Information Management (ILHIMA).
What you will need:
- Associates Degree, HIM Preferred
- 5+ years of HIM experience
- 1 year of Supervisory experience
