The Salvation Army (TSA) Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a no-fee program to assist men & women in their journey to complete our rehabilitation program. JOB OBJECTIVE:

Under the direction of the Administrator for Program, the Residence Manager is responsible for the management of their
respective women's residence facility and beneficiaries. As a Program team member, she promotes a climate for
effective performance and learning through their attitudes, life experience, willingness to teach and learn and availability to
beneficiaries and staff. Encouragement is given to the incumbent to continue seeking training which will enhance her
ability to work more effectively with beneficiaries.

As our enthusiastic and hardworking Resident Manager, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

FACILITY MANAGEMENT:

1. Ensure proper maintenance of grounds and buildings, scheduling needed repairs and other maintenance work within
guidelines provided by the Administrator for Program.
2. Provide routine supervision of residence desk (where applicable), canteen, laundry, and janitorial staff including such
training as needed in canteen operations, laundry operations, proper phone procedures and customer relations for reception
desk, and appropriate safety requirements for cleaning supplies.
3. Supervise inside and outside workers for special projects or repairs.
4. Order needed supplies for proper operation of the residence.

BENEFICIARY SUPERVISION/OTHER:
1. Provide orientation of new beneficiaries and communicate all program and residence requirements.
2. Assign rooms/beds including private rooms in accordance with set procedures. Conduct random locker checks as required
by review standards, but not less than once per month.
3. Monitor, facilitate, supervise beneficiary activities including prescription medications, house meetings and devotions, and
adding items to Personal Property Statements.
4. Provide short-term crisis counseling.
5. Provide recreational programming for residents. Participate in all activities at the residence, maintaining open
relationships with all beneficiaries.
6. Supervise and/or administer Breathalyzer testing when requested by Program staff or when beneficiaries return to the
residence.
7. Oversee urine test specimen collection; ensure proper security procedures are followed including labeling and transport.
8. Act as a role model for beneficiaries, both as a resident of the ARC and as an individual in recovery, via personal conduct,
appearance and general behavior.
9. Prepare and submit ARCC-210 forms in accordance with current policies as required.
10. Make security rounds each evening before retiring.
11. Ensure that fire drills in the residence are conducted and documented on a regular basis (minimum 2 times annually).
12. Maintain good order and discipline without favoritism in accordance with ARCC policies.
13. Discharge, when appropriate, those beneficiaries whose behavior warrants such a consequence.
14. Help coordinate special events at the facility in cooperation with the Administrator for Program. These events include (but
are not limited to) holiday events, retreats, intern dinners, and others as scheduled.
15. Drive a Salvation Army passenger van as part of regular duties; this may include transporting beneficiaries to/from Work
Therapy Units (WTU) including stores; outside meetings; Chapel, and other appointments.
16. Maintain necessary records and statistics as directed.
17. Coordinate vacation time with Administrator for Program in advance to ensure that coverage for all functions is provided.
18. Know ARC Safety Regulations for the residence and ensure that staff and beneficiaries follow these requirements.
19. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies and laws to help maintain program integrity.
20. Overtime. All overtime must have prior written approval of the Administrator for Program.
21. Other duties as assigned by the Administrator for Program.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:



      * High School graduate or equivalent (GED).
      * Program graduate with continuing involvement in a program of recovery is preferred, but not required.
      * Ability to supervise beneficiaries as revealed by experience, training, and/or interview.
      * Possession of valid 'Class B' Driver's License, if in California, with acceptable driving record. Ability to acquire the
      license within 45 days is acceptable.
      * Integrity, resourcefulness, initiative and evidence of self-improvement.
      * Demonstrate ability to support and apply the philosophy and goals of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center
      Program as stated in the Mission Statement.
      * If chemically dependent, shall be free of and have had at least one year free of any chemical abuse or dependency.

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

      * Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
      * Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and other office equipment.
      * Ability to communicate clearly on the telephone.
      * Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
      * Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks
      * Ability to operate a motor vehicle

      Qualifications
      Education
      High School or Equivalent (required)
      Experience
