HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

(RECRUITMENT FOCUS)

(1st Shift)

The Human Resources Generalist with a focus on recruitment is responsible for supporting the full spectrum of HR functions, with a primary emphasis on talent acquisition. This role will lead end-to-end recruitment processes, while also supporting onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and HR initiatives that support a positive and productive workplace culture.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Recruitment & talent acquisition (primary focus):

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
  • Post job openings on internal and external platforms.
  • Source, screen, and interview candidates to ensure a strong talent pipeline.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews, assessments, and feedback sessions.
  • Manage applicant tracking systems and maintain accurate candidate records.
  • Extend employment offers and coordinate all pre-employment processes, including physical examinations, background checks, reference verifications, and other onboarding requirements.
  • Conduct wage and compensation surveys to analyze market trends and ensure the organization offers competitive and equitable wage rates.
  • Represent the company at job fairs and recruitment events.

General HR Support:

  • Support employee relations by addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Maintain HRIS data and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Support performance management and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Participate in HR projects and process improvements.
  • Develop and conduct employee and management training on topics such as interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, FMLA, sexual harassment, etc.; serve as a back-up for conducting new hire training and orientation.
  • Create, maintain, and conduct employee surveys and exit interviews; analyze data to gauge employee satisfaction as well as trends or patterns; notify appropriate individuals and/or departments of applicable information.
  • Assist with processing payroll in the absence of the primary payroll administrator.
  • Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education level strongly preferred: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of HR experience, with at least 1 year focused on recruitment, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and HRIS platforms.
  • Understanding of and ability to work with highly confidential information.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other office machinery.

  • Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner.
  • Ability to travel to other plant locations as necessary, up to 10-15% of the time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear, stand, and/or walk, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects or controls, and move from place to place. The employee is regularly required to sit, balance, stoop, and occasionally reach above shoulders. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

The employee will spend most of his/her time in an office environment. The employee may occasionally be required to go to the workstations of other employees, including the production plant in which personal protection equipment may be required.
