Summary:
We seek a highly experienced Plant Manager to lead and manage a state-of- th -art hot-dip galvanizing facility in Stoughton, Wisconsin . This pivotal role has full Profit/Loss (P/L) responsibility and will report directly to the company's executive team. Additional responsibilities will include day-to-day operations , production management, plant operations, sales, human resources, budgeting, plant improvements, and capital utilization .
Essential Functions
  • Lead a safety-centric culture and monitor safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. Oversee and direct appropriate action on all matters related to health and safety.
  • Autonomously manage operations, guiding, coaching, and directing all key functional area managers and supervisors.
  • Direct and coordinate organization activities to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships.
  • Responsible for operating performance and manufacturing functions, including the full range of activities and processes such as engineering, purchasing, KPI reporting, AR, AP, production planning, scheduling, quality, dispatching, receiving, materials handling, inventory control, shipping, and plant operations.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets. Direct the Sales employee(s) in sales and marketing functions.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Support the executive team with special projects or assignments, as requested.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in galvanizing or a related field, with demonstrated increasing experience in team leadership and responsibilities
  • Ability to understand, oversee, and direct the utilization of sophisticated financial analysis and models in evaluating current and potential businesses, products, and markets.
  • A clear understanding of regulatory, societal, and economic drivers and their impact on the business.
  • Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, contracts, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members.
  • Ability to articulate well at all levels of the organization, write presentation materials, and effectively present information.
  • Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw timely/valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Must have excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills and work well with others.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Proven track record in lean manufacturing methodology and tools, including standard work, continuous improvement, problem resolution, and delivery of results positively affecting the bottom line of the organization
  • Ability to travel as needed, including to other locations.
