Job Title: Welding Inspector (CWI) Location: Oregon - Field and Shop Sites Department: Quality Control Reports To: Quality Manager / Fabrication Manager Employment Type: Full-Time --- Job Summary At Greenberry Industrial, safety, quality, and performance are our top priorities. As a Welding Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that all welding operations meet or exceed regulatory, customer, and internal standards. This includes compliance with local, state (Oregon), and federal regulations, while upholding the company's commitment to industry excellence, integrity, and workplace safety. --- Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this role effectively, the candidate must be able to execute each essential duty with a high level of accuracy and consistency. Additional duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and project inspection requirements before welding operations begin.
- Verify that approved base metals, filler materials, and joint preparations are used in accordance with applicable codes and project specifications.
- Monitor welders, tackers, and welding operators to ensure adherence to approved welding techniques and procedures.
- Conduct visual weld inspections per applicable codes (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX) and document results accurately.
- Interpret and apply welding symbols, drawings, and quality standards to confirm compliance.
- Accurately prepare, maintain, and submit inspection records and reports in accordance with Greenberry and client documentation standards.
- Quality Receipt Inspection
- Uphold Greenberry's core values by performing duties in a professional, ethical, and safe manner, in compliance with all applicable policies and Oregon workplace safety regulations (e.g., OR-OSHA standards).
- Regular, punctual attendance is required.
- Other tasks as assigned to support project delivery and quality assurance goals.
--- Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and credentials:
- Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification - Level I (minimum).
- Minimum of 3 years of field experience inspecting welds in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Strong preference for backgrounds that include: Nuclear, Aeronautical, DoE and/or DoD fabrication scopes.
- High degree of detail orientation and experience in a complex fabrication environment working on unique and diverse scopes of work.
- Strong understanding of applicable welding standards (AWS, ASME).
- Working knowledge of Nondestructive Testing (NDT) techniques and their application.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, weld symbols, and construction drawings.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and documentation practices.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
--- Physical Requirements This role requires the ability to perform tasks in physically demanding environments:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders or stairs.
- Must have manual dexterity and the ability to use inspection tools and equipment.
- Vision and hearing must be within normal ranges (corrective devices permitted).
- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hats, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and respirators when necessary.

- Job sites may include fabrication shops, industrial facilities, or outdoor field environments across Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.
- Exposure to loud noise, airborne particles, extreme temperatures, and other typical industrial site hazards.
- Work is performed in accordance with Greenberry's Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies and Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OR-OSHA) regulations.
