Genesis10 is seeking a Senior Database Developer with our financial services client in either of their locations Pittsburgh, PA, Lake Mary, FL, New York, NY hybrid 1-2 days a week onsite or they will consider a remote worker for this role. This is a 7-month+ contract possible contract to hire position. Summary and responsibilities: Serve as a senior technical expert responsible for the design, development, tuning, and maintenance of robust database solutions across Oracle and SQL Server environments. This individual will lead initiatives involving database modeling, performance optimization, and application integration while mentoring junior developers and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role demands deep hands-on experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL and a strong understanding of enterprise data architecture and best practices. Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient database systems Analyze user requirements and translate them into effective database code and architecture Develop, test, and optimize complex SQL queries, PL/SQL packages, procedures, and triggers in Oracle 11g and 12c Create and maintain SQL queries and routines, including complex reporting and object-relational database mappings Optimize and troubleshoot SQL code for performance, ensuring high availability and reliability of database systems Collaborate with software developers and business analysts to support application development and data integration needs Support data modeling efforts and enforce best practices in relational database design Assist with performance monitoring and server-level troubleshooting Participate in Agile software development processes including Scrum and tools such as Jira Mentor junior developers and contribute to knowledge sharing across teams Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus) 5 10 years of database development experience across Oracle and SQL Server environments Experience with complex enterprise applications and high-volume transactional systems Industry certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft SQL certifications are preferred Full understanding of relational database modeling Strong hands-on experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL (11g and 12c) Proficiency in writing and maintaining packages, procedures, and triggers Experience in tuning, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex SQL code Familiarity with both Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server platforms Good understanding of server performance troubleshooting and database architecture Strong collaboration, communication, and analytical skills Preferred skills: Hands-on experience with PL/SQL batches and stored procedure maintenance Exposure to Agile development frameworks including Scrum and task tracking via Jira This position pays $70/hr -$85/hr W2 depending on experience If you have the described qualifications and are interested in this exciting opportunity, apply today!
