Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Wage: Based on Experience

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer in Eldridge, IA to optimize and support production processes for the manufacture of metal pins. This role focuses on improving efficiency, ensuring product quality, and driving continuous improvement across machining, and finishing operations. The engineer will also lead capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects related to equipment upgrades, automation, and facility improvements.

Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:

- Design, implement and improve manufacturing processes for metal pin production (e.g., cutting, grinding, welding, heat treatment)

- Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, SOPs, and control plans

- Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues and support the introduction of new products

- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for process deviations and quality issues

- Lead cost reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives

- Specify and procure tooling, fixtures, and equipment

- Support automation and lean manufacturing projects

- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949)

- Identify opportunities for capital investment to improve productivity, safety, and quality

- Develop project proposals including ROI analysis, technical specifications, and timelines

- Manage vendor selection, equipment procurement, and installation

- Coordinate cross-functional teams during project execution

- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet performance objectives

- Maintain documentation and reporting for CAPEX initiatives

Requirements for Manufacturing Engineer:

- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field

- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably metal components

- Strong understanding of machining, stamping, and metal forming processes

- Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)

- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing principles

- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams

- Experience with CNC programming and automation systems preferred

- Knowledge of metallurgy and heat treatment processes preferred

- ERP/MRP system experience (e.g., SAP, Oracle) preferred

- Project management experience, especially in CAPEX projects preferred
