Remediation work is done by the SME's. This is not a hands on fixing role. It is observing, connecting the dots, identifying gaps, documenting gaps, and communicating and sharing the story.
On the Disaster Recovery team - closely aligned to the Infra org. They work with many engineers and business stakeholders. A typical DR type role understands all infrastructure services and how applications are hosted on servers. Mainframe distributed and cloud. They will be on a team that will be accountable for building DR plans, working with SME's and planning and participating in DR exercises. Most exercises happen on the weekends. Once every 2 months (they need to be flexible). This year and next year there is a lot of rearchitecting happening due to the Colo relocation. A lot of testing is needed. Not looking for someone deep into one technology, but they need to be able to have meaningful conversations with SME's about how the applications run. They will do a lot of reporting on DR capabilities. PPT, or Power BI. They need to know how to create these reports. Must have tech skills: -Basic knowledge of Infra services, on prem and on cloud - no certs required. --Comprehensive knowledge of how hosting works, how things connect and communicate. They need to understand how the flow of data and applications work in infrastructure. -Knowledge of creating reports. PPT or Power BI --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Job Description: *Provide guidance to build recovery procedures and execute various DR tests to recover technology services *Assess, identify, and aid in the remediation of critical risks to application, infrastructure, and enterprise recoverability *Create DR patterns for infrastructure services *Define realistic DR scenarios and facilitate the build of recovery procedures *Establish and enforce adherence to DR standards and best practices *Create and maintain application and technology recovery sequence *Technology resiliency testing (High Availability / Disaster Recovery/ Chaos testing) *Functional DR exercises to validate Business recovery capabilities *Conduct Distributed, Cloud, and Mainframe platform DR tests *Disaster Recovery gap identification and management of their remediation and closure *Skills* disaster recovery, compute, storage, aws, middleware, vpn, load balancer *Additional Skills & Qualifications* We are looking for: *Bachelors in Computer Science / Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience *4-5 years of professional experience required *Familiarity with enterprise technologies, including compute, storage, database, middleware, virtualization, AWS services, firewalls, VPN, and load balancers *Knowledge of methods used in performing risk analysis *Optimally interact with business and IT units to provide end-to-end disaster recovery solutions *Knowledge of Disaster and Cyber Threat Recovery *Experience participating in orchestrated enterprise planning methodologies (e.g., Agile) *Experience with Enterprise Technology planning and delivery software (e.g., JiraAlign, Jira) *Ability to self-teach, independently drive for answers *Effective at balancing multiple projects and priorities concurrently *Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with all levels within the business and IT organizations *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
