UHS is hiring an Administrative Director - Graduate Medical Education (GME) who will in partnership with the UHS of Delaware, Chief Academic Officer (UHS CAO), will be responsible for assisting and guiding initiatives as directed by the UHS CAO, including but not limited to, the development of new ACGME accredited UHS Graduate Medical Education (UHS GME) sponsoring institutions (SIs) and residency/fellowship programs (Programs) operating within UHS Acute Hospitals, as well as ensuring 100% compliance with ACGME requirements by existing ACGME accredited UHS GME SIs and Programs to ensure educational excellence.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • The UHS GME leadership role exists to direct administrative operations and maintain appropriate oversight of UHS GME and undergraduate medical education programs in UHS Acute facilities.
  • Active participation in weekly, monthly and quarterly GME meetings is essential. With the UHS CAO, the ER ADME travels at least annually to the UHS GME entities (hospitals/consortiums) to conduct Annual On-site GME Reviews of each SI and Program to ensure compliance with ACGME requirements, identifying barriers for continued success by meeting with C-Suite leaders and all GME leadership teams, including staff and GME residents/fellows advising and providing recommendations for areas of improvement, both verbally and in a written report.
  • Other responsibilities include but are not limited to editing all new ACGME SI and Program applications to ensure accuracy and compliance with ACGME requirements, advising C-Suite leaders, DIOs and ADMEs/Institutional Coordinators regarding the UHS GME established SI and Program development process, advising SIs and Programs regarding faculty and resident/fellow agreements with support from UHS Sr. Counsel and the Legal Contract Specialist, and implementing and maintaining UHS corporate GME master contracts with support from UHS Supply Chain Director of Contracts.
  • Additionally, the ER ADME is responsible for maintaining the UHS Graduate Medical Education Sharepoint Site and files therein for reporting to the UHS CAO and ensuring all SIs and Program GME websites are updated annually by July 1 each year. As the UHS GME corporate Eastern Regional ADME with oversight of ADMEs/Institutional Coordinators across the Eastern Region of the U.S., active leadership, and effective communication by the ER ADME is essential to the position and the continued success of each UHS GME SI and Program

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 7 years' experience in a Graduate Medical Education administrative management and leadership role.

  • Experience should include GME program coordination or high-level administrative support for a department of graduate medical education
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Knowledge of Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) institutional and program requirements for Family Medicine and Internal Medicine required
  • Knowledge and experience with ERAS, NRMP, and New Innovations software required
  • Medical Education certification (C-TAGME) preferred
