Sterile Processing Technician I - Be the Hidden Hero Behind Every Successful Surgery About the Role Every great surgical outcome starts with a behind-the-scenes hero and that could be you! As a Sterile Processing Technician I, you'll play a vital role in patient safety and care by ensuring surgical instruments and supplies are spotless, sterile, and ready for use. Reporting to the Supervisor of Sterile Processing, you'll be part of the team that keeps our operating rooms running smoothly and our patients protected. What You'll Do
- Decontaminate, clean, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and endoscopy equipment with precision and care.
- Operate sterilization equipment and keep detailed records to guarantee every set meets the highest safety standards.
- Prepare and wrap trays for the operating room and other hospital areas so teams have exactly what they need, when they need it.
- Monitor supplies, rotate stock, and reprocess any compromised items quickly and efficiently.
- Partner with other hospital departments, providing excellent communication and teamwork.
- Keep the department sparkling clean, organized, and ready to deliver top-notch service.
- Adapt to schedule changes and prioritize urgent cases to keep patient care flowing smoothly.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Completion of a sterile processing course preferred.
- One to three years of sterile processing, operating room, or endoscopy experience strongly preferred.
- HSPA Certification required.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent teamwork skills, and the ability to follow instructions with precision.
- Customer service skills that shine, with the ability to communicate clearly in English.
- Comfort with computers and dedication to confidentiality.
