Physician - General Surgery

Description

MaineHealth seeks a Surgeon to work in Portland, ME, and Norway, ME. The surgeon examines and treats patients using surgical methods, including by operating on patients to correct deformities, repair injuries, prevent and treat diseases, or improve or restore patient functions. The Surgeon performs trauma/critical care procedures on patients in critical condition due to multiple injuries to different organ systems, including injuries to the pancreas, spleen, stomach and colon. The position encompasses elective general surgery, emergency general surgery, trauma, and surgical critical care. The Surgeon works with physicians and surgeons in various medical/surgical specialties to stabilize patients in critical condition. The Surgeon also provides consultation and surgical assistance to other physicians and surgeons. Qualified candidates must have M.D. or D.O.; State of Maine Medical or Osteopathic License; and 60-month medical residency in Surgery.
