Credit Analyst- Job Description

Position Summary: The Credit Analyst is responsible for assessing creditworthiness, managing financial risk, and supporting the onboarding process of prospective clients. This role ensures appropriate financial safeguards are in place while balancing client service needs and protecting the company's assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Credit Assessment & Approval: Review credit approval requests in Salesforce and validate data for completeness.
  • Analyze financial documents including bank statements, VODs (Verification of Deposits), and public records.
  • Perform risk analysis using internal guidelines (e.g., 2x billing balance standard, VOD scoring metrics).
  • Determine credit status and apply credit limits appropriately in Salesforce.
  • Recommend risk mitigation strategies such as weekly payroll, personal guarantees, security deposits, or letters of credit.
  • NSF (Non-Sufficient Funds) Management: Review and process NSF rejections; validate client bank and invoice information.
  • Apply NSF fee policies; escalate and coordinate with branches on recurring issues.
  • Maintain accurate tracking through NSF workbooks and collaborate with Accounting and AR teams.
  • Maintain client database
  • Accounts Receivable Oversight: Monitor AR aging reports and manage the Past Due PEO Customers & staffing list.
  • Coordinate with branches to resolve outstanding invoices and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Track and follow up on payment status, including check and EFT processing.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate with Area Managers, Branch Partners, HR, and Payroll to resolve credit-related concerns.
  • Act as liaison between the field and corporate risk management, balancing service expectations with financial risk controls.
  • Escalations & Strategic Input: Address escalations from branches and collaborate with senior leadership on high-risk decisions.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of credit policies and risk philosophy in alignment with company goals.
  • Skills & Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of experience in credit risk, financial analysis, or related roles.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial documents.
    • Proficiency with Salesforce, Microsoft Excel, and AR/credit reporting tools.
    • Knowledge of credit evaluation metrics and financial risk reduction methods.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-department collaboration.
    • Experience in PEO or payroll service environments is a plus.
    • Experience with debt collection actions and regulations is a plus.
    • Salary and Other Compensation:
    • The starting hourly rate for this position is between 80-95K. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography, skills, education, experience, certifications, and other qualifications of the candidate.
    • This position is also eligible for annual incentive pay equal to 8% of annual regular pay, prorated in the first year, in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan.
