Position Summary

The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center (UNMHSC) Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC) is seeking a detail oriented, results-driven individual to join our team as an Administrative Coordinator. The mission of the UNMHSC CTSC is committed to bettering health by streamlining science, transforming training environments, and improving the conduct, quality, and dissemination of research from laboratories to clinical practice, and out into the community.

The Administrative Coordinator duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Coordinating complex travel arrangements
  • Managing office purchases and tracking expenses
  • Scheduling executive calendars, retreats, workshops, and events
  • Reserving and coordinating use of conference rooms and complex schedules for parking reservations
  • Processing payroll for department
  • Writing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Managing daily office operations and supporting special initiatives and events
  • Compiling and analyzing data, generating internal reports, and supporting leadership communications
  • Assisting in the preparation of high-quality departmental presentations using advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills.
  • The individual will hold a pcard and be responsible for ordering supplies and materials, process POs and assist with other financial activities for the CTSC.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

TERM APPOINTMENT; FUNDING AVAILABLE THROUGH 06/30/2026; CONTINUANCE BEYOND THAT DATE SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF ADDITIONAL FUNDING. The UNM CTSC has over 35 years of continuous funding as a well-established NIH FUNDED research center.

Conditions of Employment
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • High level competency in computer usage including Adobe, Acrobat, Zoom and MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams & Access)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience providing administrative support
  • Excellent telephone etiquette
  • Experience working in Higher Education
  • Experience working at the UNM Health Sciences Center
  • Experience with UNM Banner Finance
  • High level competency in Smartsheet
  • Experience with scheduling/calendaring
  • Experience entering payroll through PHATIME
