Temple University's School of Sport, Tourism, and Hospitality Management is searching for a Major Gift Officer!

Salary Range: $70,000-80,000

Position Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Development, the Major Gift Officer for the School of Sport, Tourism, and Hospitality Management (STHM) will work to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects (individual and corporate) at the $25,000+ level.

The Major Gift Officer will secure funds for STHM by managing a portfolio of assigned prospects, representing STHM, building relationships with individuals and corporations through personal meetings and establishing connections between prospects' philanthropic interests and the priorities of the STHM and Temple.

The position is primarily focused on building relationships with prospective donors. As such, it requires a high degree of interpersonal skill, and comfort with working autonomously. Success in the role is evaluated using a variety of goals and performance metrics developed by the Development Office and the University's central Institutional Advancement Office.

Required Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree
* Five (5) years of fundraising experience in fundraising, sales, recruitment, public relations, or other external-facing relationship management role, in a higher education or non-profit setting
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
* An entrepreneurial spirit and a high motivation to achieve within an ambitious result driven environment
* Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with high wealth individuals and senior leadership
* Ability to understand and professionally represent the mission, goals and values of Temple University to multiple constituents
* Ability to influence, lead, and inspire groups of individuals around shared goals and objectives
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects or assignments simultaneously
* Must demonstrate flexibility, creativity, strategic-thinking, and intellectual curiosity
* Ability to develop and sustain collaborative and supportive relationships with internal and external constituencies and maintain a positive and constructive attitude
* Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
* Must be able to travel and work occasional evening and weekend hours

Preferred Skills and Abilities
*
Experience with sport, tourism, and hospitality school education

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
